Please take a look at the preliminary schedule for August 2013, below. To accommodate everyone's schedules, as well as my own, the evening schedule has to shift a little later. Please leave a comment or talk to me about the changes in case they don't suit you, or tell me why they work.
August 2013 Classes
The schedule has been changed quite a bit for the summer month of July. Please take a look and confirm when you'd like to attend in case you haven't already.
With the summer here, realityoga will be doing a short summer video series focusing on ... whatever you request!
For July and August 2013, I'll aim to produce five videos, varying in length and theme.
Please submit requests for what you'd like help with, what you want to practice or improve, or want to see in the tips and tricks department, and I'll try to accommodate you by including it in one of three videos I'll whip together over the summer - dedicated to you.
Submit video requests via email, on Facebook, Twitter, or on the contact page.
Oh my. It's been a wild May. I have to apologize for not updating the themes recently. I have been swamped by a full time obligation. This means I have to re-prioritize some of my time to allow for more rest, so I can still provide the kind of yoga you deserve.
May's themes revolved literally around twists, and still continues for this week, Week 23, in June. We'll continue working on mobility in the spine, back and shoulder girdle in the coming weeks, while we combine more leg work to improve flexibility and strength in the legs and hips.
This week is dedicated to our close friend, The Chaturanga.
We'll be validating all the benefits of this empowering pose, and explore it's many intricacies.
PS - Here is some inspiration from my incredible yoga teacher, James Brown, whose birthday is incidentally today. Happy Birthday, James!
the (un)mat. realityoga stock is yellow.
Get a FREE Lululemon 'The (un)mat' non-slip yoga mat when you purchase two months' yoga classes at once. That's 1 unbelievable, $48 non-slip yoga mat for FREE, when you combine a minimum of an 8+12 class package, or get 2 All You Can Yoga packages stock. Consider this: May and June have 43 available yoga mornings, not to mention the evenings. You do the math. It's dirt cheap for all you can yoga, AND you get a shiny new yoga mat from Lululemon. Inventory is limited and this offer expires when the last (un)mat finds itself a happy pair of yoga feet …
ABOUT the (un)mat
One vibrant, summer ready yellow mat awaits a happy yogi! The (un)mat is Lululemon's slim, non-slip yoga mat option that is great for travel, as it's light and very thin. This 1.5mm skinny mat is especially good because it retains its non-slip and absorbent status both sides, whether it's on wood, tile, carpet, over another mat, or underneath your sweaty yoga palms and feet. Gerald, realityoga's teacher, has been using one for over a year and swears by it's glue like grippiness.
If you've purchased classes after April 24th, upgrade quickly to get this once off, unbelievable offer, or just purchase two premium packages and the (un)mat is yours!
To accommodate my own updated daytime schedule from May onwards, the schedule has gone through a few important changes that may affect attendance.
I've added Tuesday mornings, 7.40am, to our already bustling morning routines and redacted Saturdays, to allow for open weekends for us all. There are no more 6pm classes. A one hour, Wednesday 6.30pm class can be arranged on a weekly basis with a minimum attendance of 3 people.
The time listed on the schedule is when I will receive class attendees in the lobby. There will be 5-10 minutes after this before class commences to allow for preparation and setup.
As we become stronger through practice in body and mind, it's been wonderful seeing those qualities put in action on the mat. The ladies and gentlemen of REALITYOGA are gradually moving into more challenging yoga territory, as we get poses like tripod headstand under control, and gentle arm and leg actions become instinctive parts of the practice that help to unlock poses.
These two weeks we did a lot of hip and thigh work with stretching and opening into new pose combinations and freedoms - even during balance postures. We have continued our focus on a strengthened core and strong arms, and good posture at that, all applicable on the mat and in daily life.
What this week's yoga is about:
Using every muscle at your disposal.
Hi ladies and gentlemen
Thank you very, very much to those who attended the Spring Bootcamp. It was fun, by the looks of things, and the next one's already being planned - I hope you're ready!
To get you there in the meantime, we're amping things up a bit this week in the realityoga Cave. Things are going to get hot, you're going to get strong, and you're going to like it! OK!? As our beginner friends are easing well into their yoga bodies, we will be taking our practice a level deeper, to strengthen, to ease into making poses effortless.
This will require a little work, a little sweat, a little time - which is why April is likely the best month for the foreseeable future to get the All You Can Yoga package for NT2600. You get to yoga all but two of the yoga evenings this month, and naturally have the option of all the mornings, making it a surreal amount of yoga at a surreal price. Even if you come only three times a week this month, NT2600 is your best bet!
I hope to see you all of April, inside and outsid
